When the time comes to finally take your holiday, the only thing on your mind might be the rest and relaxation you expect to get when your plane lands at its destination. But don’t sell yourself short by only spending your entire trip dozed off under a beach umbrella. To get the most out of your holiday, you’ll want to take in some of the local sights that you’re not bound to see back at home. Pack a camera, a pair of binoculars, and a good pair of walking shoes and map out some of the best scenery. The sights to see in Majorca are some of the most unique and breathtaking that you’re likely to find.

Majorca’s beauty is most notable on its long and rambling beaches. Those that are least infiltrated by crowds are on the east and north coasts of the island, and they offer a quiet refuge for visitors with sweeping views of the Mediterranean Sea. Some are typical of a tropical environment with white sand and crystal blue waters, while others are more rugged with craggy rocks scattering the sand and towering pine trees that cast shade over the water.

Some of the island’s greatest sights require you to leave the coast and travel into the vast inland countryside. Consider the villages of Fornalutx and Biniaraix, which are very rural and host to orange and lemon groves. The Mediterranean climate of Majorca is perfect for farming these citrus delights, and travelers to this region of the island will be able to see just how they are farmed and harvested. In Parc Natural de s’Albufera, you can enjoy some of the world’s best bird-watching sanctuaries in a wetland environment. You’re unlikely to find such a wild and rugged setting anywhere else during your travels.

Majorca provides an abundance of natural beauty, from gigantic mountains to rural valleys, that host farming and wildlife sanctuaries. Beaches and quaint coastal villages outline the island, and the vibrant city of Palma represents one of the most unique medieval settings in all of Europe. The sights to see in Majorca are as diverse as the travelers that visit from around the world, and you should do yourself a favor by seeing as much of it as you can.
