One of the best ways to enjoy your holiday is to immerse yourself in things that are unique to your destination. If you’re in Scotland, you might play a round of golf at the world-renowned St. Andrew’s Course. In Ireland, you could visit a peat bog and learn how Irish farmers harvest peat from the soggy ground. Then there’s Majorca, which is an unusual spot in that it offers a handful of experiences that are unique to the island community; things that you’re not going to find anywhere else. After a long day of sightseeing, shopping, or beach dwelling, you can continue your cultural immersion by dining in one of the popular Majorca restaurants.

Because it has been inhabited by a number of races over the years, Majorca boasts a bevy of culinary influences that are still very much alive today. Beginning in the capital city of Palma, you will find many types of dishes right at your fingertips. At the popular Koldo Royo Restaurant, a world-famous Spanish chef prepares plates that honor the Spanish and Mediterranean flavors. You might try their “white bean with clam soup” or their “oyster salad.” Nearby is Caballito de Mar in Palma’s historic district, specializing in many varieties of international cuisine. They prepare many seafood dishes with a Spanish flair, such as “Lobster Caldereta” which is a fancy name for lobster, almond, and tomato soup.

Dining in Majorca restarauntsAll throughout the island there are many great places to dine. L’Escargot Restaurant in the quaint village of Santa Eugenia serves up French-inspired dishes prepared with locally grown produce and fresh-caught seafood off the coast in the Mediterranean. In the village of Arta, you might give La Calatrava a try; it specializes in traditional yet elegant entrees, from Surf and Turf to Rack of Lamb. They offer an impressive selection of fine wines and desserts, and the Spanish courtyard setting is a perfect place to spend a warm Majorcan evening.

The most popular Majorca restaurants have a lot to offer visitors, from tasty dishes to luxurious atmospheres. Sometimes the best way to unwind from a long day of sightseeing is to kick back in a relaxing restaurant environment and sample some of the best local dishes.
