When partaking on a holiday on Majorca, the largest of the Balearic Islands in the Mediterranean, you will find that there is much for you to do in this area. One activity from which you can choose is that of canyoning. All across the world, it’s become a popular adventure sport, one with a great deal of risk. The main goal of canyoning is to follow either the canyon or stream downwards. This could mean travelling over waterfalls, doing down rock chutes or moving through gullies with deep water.

In some parts of Majorca, the waterfalls can be as high as 40 meters. You may also encounter vertical walls of rock that measure well over 200 meters in height. Canyoning is considered to be a risky sport. Therefore when partaking in this activity while on Majorca, it is a good idea to have taken out some travel insurance prior to embarking on your holiday.

This travel insurance can provide you with protection in the event that you are injured while canyoning on Majorca or in the event that you cause injury to another person.

A basic aspect of most cheap travel insurance policies would include personal liability cover. This coverage provides compensation for any legal costs of expenses one is legally liable to pay in the event that you cause accidental injury or death to another person. This coverage would also cover any accidental loss or damage of property.

Included in travel insurance is medical expense cover. This is especially important when travelling to some countries that may not have universal health care coverage. Travel insurance can even reimburse you if for some unforeseen circumstances cause you to cancel your trip. Depending upon your specific holiday plans, most travel insurance policies will provide additional coverage for certain activities.

If you plan on participating in canyoning while on holiday, make sure you inquire about what level of travel insurance coverage you will need for this activity. Since it is a high risk activity, most insurers require you to purchase a higher level of travel insurance coverage. By obtaining proper insurance coverage, you can better enjoy this sport knowing that you are covered in the event of an accident.
