Many travelers equate a perfect holiday to a time spent in the company of ample sun, sand, and water. If you’re looking for a destination that offers coastlines steeped with beautiful beaches and ocean views, there are countless places worldwide that fit the bill. However, only a select few offer a variety of beach environments within miles of each other.

Perhaps you’re interested in laying down your towel in the sand in the midst of a crowded beach teeming with other tourists from all over the world. If that’s not your scene, you might enjoy a more secluded spot in a shady cove away from all the clamor of a crowd. Majorca beaches have something to offer travelers of all interests and ages.

When you fly into the Palma airport to begin your holiday, you’re actually only a few miles away from the nearest beaches. Nearby are the Can Pastilla and El Arenal resorts which together rest of the most popular beach east of Palma, Playa de Palma. To the west of Palma, you’ll find some of the most developed and crowded beaches on the island.

Majorca beachesThe town of Cala Mayor boasts a beautiful smaller beach that offers views of the Marivent Palace. Similarly unique is the beach at Illetes, a coved environment with pine trees that stretch nearly down to the water. A bit north from here are the coastal towns of Estellencs and Banyalbufar which have slightly more rocky and rugged beaches.

You could visit a new beach on every day of your holiday in Majorca and never run out of options. Whether you’re soaking up the sun on the beach at Cala Tuent – the biggest and most attractive plot of sand on the island – or a smaller and slightly hidden beach at Es Trenc, you’ll have more than your share of great sand to spread out on and enjoy. Majorca beaches not only come in every kind, but many of them truly are one of a kind.
